We had to send the car back to the dealership in Georgia and Sequoia did a really great job for us. Highly recommended!!!
It is a really professional company, and the service was great, and we also really value the environmental contributions they are doing. Thank you guys!! Will move my car again with you ❤️
Professional service and reasonable price considering they had to winch my car on the trailer.

Most of what decides when a car from California reaches New York happens in the first half of the trip, in the mountains and high plains of the West, where winter closes interstates and the trucks on them wait. The last few miles matter for the price instead. A delivery into New York City crosses from New Jersey on a Port Authority bridge or tunnel that charges a loaded carrier over $100, and that’s already in your quote.
Between October and May it can. From the Bay Area and Sacramento the direct road east is I-80, over Donner Summit and then across southern Wyoming, where wind and blowing snow close the interstate dozens of times a winter. The season runs late there, too, because March and April are usually Wyoming’s snowiest months, so a spring shipment isn’t past it. A closure can last a few hours or several days (in February 2023 the stretch near Arlington stayed shut for three and a half days), and while the road is closed the trucks park and wait, so the delivery date moves with them.
From Southern California a truck can stay out of Wyoming on I-40, but that road climbs to about 7,000 feet near Flagstaff, and Arizona has closed it in heavy snow in each of the last two winters. At the far end, lake effect storms can keep trucks off the Thruway west of Rochester between November and February. That’s why, for a delivery anywhere in New York between October and May, we’d leave a few days of room around the date rather than plan on one that can’t move.

Shipping a car from California to New York costs between $1,650 and $2,600 for open transport. Enclosed transport costs about 40 to 70% more, rising with distance. Los Angeles and San Diego to New York City quote $2,150 to $2,500.
Shipping a car from California to New York takes 5 to 8 days, an estimate that depends on where the car starts and where it is going. The route runs roughly 2,540 to 2,950 miles. Between October and May, snow and wind closures in the West, such as those on I-80 across Wyoming, can push a shipment to the top of that range or past it.
If you find damage at delivery, note it on the bill of lading before signing. We will manage the claim with the carrier from there.
Wash the car so its condition is easy to record, photograph it from each corner, and leave about a quarter tank of fuel. Take out anything above the 100 pound personal item allowance, and take your toll transponder such as FasTrak, E-ZPass or SunPass off the windshield, because toll gantries can read it while the car rides the truck. Have a working key ready for the driver.
Every shipment is insured by the carrier under federal cargo liability requirements.
You can leave up to 100 pounds of personal items in one piece of luggage, placed in the trunk or cargo area. Some carriers will accept additional weight for an added fee; we can arrange this for you after booking.
Nothing is charged at booking. The deposit is charged 7 days before your pickup window opens, and the remaining balance is paid to the driver at delivery.
The truck waits until the road is safe to drive, and your pickup or delivery date moves with it. We'll confirm the driver's new window with you as soon as the road reopens. Snow on the mountain passes and in the northern states, and hurricanes along the Gulf and Atlantic coasts, are the usual causes.
