We make deliberate choices where the industry usually goes cheap.

How we do things differently

The price is the price

Your price is locked for 28 days, and the number doesn't move after you book. So there's no surprise fee later, and no new quote if a carrier turns out to be hard to find.

You don't pay anything to book. The deposit comes off your card 7 days before your pickup window opens, and you pay the rest to the driver when the car arrives. If something changes, cancellation is free until the deposit is charged.

We pay carriers fairly

Some companies pay carriers as little as they can. When freight is slow and drivers are competing for loads, they push the rate down, never mind what the work actually costs a carrier in fuel, insurance, and maintenance.

We don't do that. We set carrier pay to cover the real cost, and the driver is paid the day they deliver, not weeks later. Because our loads pay fairly and pay fast, the driver moving your car is one who wanted it, not one stuck with a rate they resent.

1% for the Planet

One percent of every booking funds Clean Air Task Force, a nonprofit that works on the policy and technology to clean up transport and energy emissions. It comes out of every order by default, and 1% for the Planet checks our giving each year.

This isn't carbon offsetting, and we don't buy a credit per shipment. CATF works further upstream, on the policy and technology that cuts emissions across the whole industry. One percent won't undo what a car carrier burns on the road, but it funds the work that could.

Insured every step

Your car is insured from pickup to delivery. We check the carrier's coverage before we assign them the load, and it's already part of the price you were quoted, not an add-on.

Door to door, nationwide

We move your car door to door, anywhere in the lower 48, from your driveway to theirs. If your street can't take a full-size carrier, we'll arrange a meeting point close by.

Questions people ask before they book

How much does it cost to ship a car with Sequoia?

Most car shipments run between $800 and $1,800. Distance sets the baseline, then vehicle size, open or enclosed transport, and the season move it from there. The only way to see your real number is a quote, and it stays locked for 28 days once you have it.

What makes Sequoia different from other car shipping companies?

The shipping itself is standard auto transport: vetted carriers, open or enclosed, door to door, insured. What's different is how Sequoia runs it. We hold your price for 28 days and don't raise it after you book, we pay carriers a fair rate and pay the driver at delivery, and one percent of every booking goes to Clean Air Task Force. That climate contribution is mandatory, on every order, which is the part almost no one else in car shipping does.

What's the catch with Sequoia's pricing?

There isn't one. Your quote is locked for 28 days, and the number doesn't change after you book. You aren't charged at booking; the deposit comes off 7 days before your pickup window opens, and you pay the balance to the driver at delivery. Cancellation is free until the deposit is charged. The very low quotes you'll see elsewhere are often the real catch: another company books you cheap, then raises the price when no carrier will take the load.

Why does Sequoia fund Clean Air Task Force?

One percent of every booking funds Clean Air Task Force, a nonprofit working on the policy and technology to clean up transport and energy emissions. We chose CATF because that upstream work cuts emissions across the industry, which a per-shipment carbon credit doesn't. This isn't carbon-neutral shipping. It's a contribution to climate work, on every order, and 1% for the Planet verifies it each year.

How does Sequoia pay its carriers?

Sequoia sets carrier pay to cover what the work actually costs a driver, in fuel, insurance, and maintenance, and pays them the day they deliver. Some companies do the opposite: they post loads for as little as carriers will accept, especially when freight is slow, then pay weeks later. Paying fairly and fast means the driver moving your car is one who wanted the job.
